Strangely I stopped going to carnival when I felt that police action made me feel unsafe ... it is such an amazing festival but being pushed by the police back into the melee when I wanted to leave made me feel that they had little consideration for people. Kettling is very unpleasant to be caught up in.

I believe you can't - because it's obvious that the sauce which is so tasty on the goose takes on a bitter tone when applied to the gander.

I'm happy to admit that I'm using Gracie Field, tea and the colour beige as a cultural stereotype to summarise the elderly - because I know it to be untrue (indeed - Madonna is now old enough to get cheap insurance from Saga and I'm sure that she doesn't fall into any accepted stereotypes of the elderly).

No, I don't have proof, but I don't have proof that white families do not, as a rule indulge in anti-social behaviour.

Maybe Dave 50 cannot answer with any authority on that but I certainly can. From 1969 to 1977 I attended every carnival on duty. My Posted police station was Paddington Green right next door. I was at the biggest carnage fest in the very hot summer of 1976 when it really kicked off with murders,stabbings and muggings. The station yard at Notting Hill was a mountain of stolen/recovered purses and wallets etc for losers to retrieve for weeks later minus their cash and cards.
So some who think they know it all and try to discredit him I can confirm dave 50 is quite correct.

But what if Mr Kodogo is a brain surgeon with a wife who is an accountant, and he went to Oxford, and his children are in private school, and he likes to play Beethoven very quietly of an evening, and have champagne receptions on his terrace in the warm weather?
