a very high turnout has been reported, and a landslide "yes" is being forecast in the urban areas. indeed some prominent "no" campaigners are ready to concede.

but would that necessarily guarantee an overall result in favour of gay marriage?

and, if the result isn't a "yes", will the government embark on its previously successful "neverendum" tactic until the electorate provides the right answer?

well good for you sunny-dave. I am going to walk away on this post because I don't like the way it is going either.
You sent it the way it is going, Retrocop....again.
Perhaps you should have kept your mouth shut.....or sent OldBill or Dogberry to post instead...?
JTH
You the self appointed censor on AB.Sorry I will steer clear of you also.
It might be better if you steered cleared of AB....full stop......until such time as you can conduct yourself in a civil manner.
Goodness me ! How this thread has deteriorated since I had an early night !

I am not sure what has been said as some posts have been removed. We should all calm down !

We should be celebrating the fact that a portion of the Irish society is now no longer being discriminated against, instead of filling in the space with insults.

What possible difference does it make if 2 chaps or 2 girls want to get married or not ? It isn't anybodies business but their own. It doesn't effect me one way or the other....live and let live for goodness sake !
mikey
I agree. In fact one of the re moved posts was addressed to you by myself.
It was in reply to you stating "we are all united in this or are we?
I said I don't give a flying fig about this civil partnership as my marriage was legally recognised 40 yrs ago and has always been and I find this exercise a reason just to ensure a fair divvy of the assets in case the union goes pear shaped. I likened it top a pre nuptial agreement which IMO does not bode well for any union.
Of course those who have had their nose put out of joint by their obvious disapproval of my reinstatement then attempted to goad me in order that they get me banned again.
That is why I walked away from the OP.
Thanks Retrocop....its not always easy to tell what went wrong, when posts have been removed !
Just to give you a 'heads up', retro. I don't think JTH is self appointed. Probably best if you do steer clear.
Svejk
Thanks my friend.I have got a very good idea who I have to watch now I have returned. :-)
It would seem that chatterbank is believed by some, of a clique, as their own personal domain and interlopers must be deterred.
I could be forgiven in thinking that someone opines that the referendum was solely for her benefit!!
retrocop, walk away from the playground.
Will do naomi.Thanks
Svejk and Retrocop - LoL.....Paranoid, much...?

Although, if it helps you two mind your P&Q's it may be no bad thing.....
don't start on me. I haven't been suspended for weeks now.
//These boots are made for walking// :-)
Jack...enough already !
The part Retrocop has missed from his re-post to Mikey was his asking where he could get a civil partnership for his dogs now....

Retrocop...you got yourself banned....nobody else.....you.
I miss all the spicy bits :0/

Jordy...as you have agred that you are a homophobic bigot, why can't you understand why your answer was removed ?

Its the mods job to keep debates from sliding into chaos, so if you are fool enough to admit to such a thing, do you really think you are immune from censoring ?
