a very high turnout has been reported, and a landslide "yes" is being forecast in the urban areas. indeed some prominent "no" campaigners are ready to concede.

but would that necessarily guarantee an overall result in favour of gay marriage?
and, if the result isn't a "yes", will the government embark on its previously successful "neverendum" tactic until the electorate provides the right answer?

that is probably lost in the mists of time. in 1533 the Buggery Act was passed, in which " unnatural sexual acts against the will of God and man" were dealt with by the judiciary rather than Ecclesiastical Courts as had happened previously. "Buggery" was never defined in any statute, but established by precedent - only later did it come to mean what we generally understand.

Possibly the most offensive post of the day, retrocop.
Neanderthal and offensive beyond belief, even by your dubious standards.
It is completely acceptable to disagree with the result - I would always defend your right to do so - but gratuitously offensive remarks like yours have no place in a civilised society.

I was not,at all, likening any one to dogs. It was a way of me describing the ceremony as meaningless IMO. I do not describe homosexuals or Lesbians as dogs or any other creature and you are a sad bunch to jump down my throat to think otherwise. If homosexuality is not illegal then I believe that a same sex partnership is just away to get legal rights when the union goes pear shaped that is why I mentioned pre nuptial agreement in my last post.
Shame on you lot to try to gag me on an inoffensive opinion which those who revel in easily being offended when no offence was meant.
I notice sunny-dave leads the pack and has already threatened banning another ABer on this very post. I will have to watch my back when you are on site won't I dave.Got a hair trigger on the report button have you?
