I'm with TTT here. I don't expect what I am going to say to be popular but I am going to go ahead anyway ! These tattoos just look childish. When I was a boy in the 50's and early 60's, we used to buy packs of bubble gum with transfers in them, in the way home from school. You licked these paper transfers and then stuck them on your arm. But as soon as you got home, Mum would...

mikey starts of with....

"lol Ludwig ! These tattoos in foreign languages really puzzle me, especially the ones in Asian scripts. How do they know what is written ?"

and ends with......

"You couldn't make it up !"

// Ludwig, is that to remind you what last night's supper was? //

Yep. The trouble is it's only right once every couple of weeks.

Another sensible answer DB !
ah the visual again - unkempt and dirty no excuse, you can smell those coming.
actually andy hughes, i wasn't. I read this article yesterday and the professional line stood out to me. She keeps her tattoos covered in order to maintain a professional appearance. the implication to that is that when they are uncovered they are unprofessional looking.

If you can't tell Talbot is being silly and sarcastic then you need a sense of humour transplant!
o' dear.
Would that we could be sure on that account Daffy !
It is obvious!
ok Divebuddy. I was suggesting that if you said to an American

"I;m from Llandudno"

The answer you would receive would very possibly be
"Is that near London?"

It has happened to me on several occasions.
andy-hughes is probably right with his point about long hair. In the future when almost everyone in the world has expressed their individualism by having a maori symbol tattooed on their face, no-one will bat an eyelid. In fact you'll rejected as a non-conformist weirdo if you turn up at a job interview without one.

Ok I give in. My geography is appealing and my spelling isn't much better.

To my knowledge, in the 14 times I have visited the States since 1978, I have ever only used the word Llandudno once and nobody asked me where it was. They just sat and stared at me.

But to concede to you Talbot, most Americans have very little idea of where anything is a few States away, let alone a continent away. Most Yanks don't even have passports and are very unworldly indeed. I wouldn't go as far as describing them as ignorant, just terribly naive and childlike at times. They also can't brew beer to save their lives, although that is off-topic !
Or an American asks where you're from. You reply 'Ireland' and they ask is that near London.
Is JoggerJayne American?
Do you know the Queen?
