Well said. I lost my special cat to this 6 years ago and my heart is still broken.
Apparently they love the stuff.
This is poisonous to dogs and wildlife too.
poisonous to everyone

ethylene glycol which tastes sweet is metabolised to oxalic acid and gives first an acidosis and then the oxalate blocks the kidneys .

weird place to be technical - sorry
I know that it can happen by accident but when it is left out intentionally it makes me angry. Why would you want any animal to suffer in this way.

PP - it is best that people understand (as much as our little brains will allow us to understand) so that if they suspect that if their animal is poisoned they will rush it to their vet.

I find it difficult to understand how normal addition of this to a vehicle would result in sufficient around for a foolish cat to consume. Surely any such poisoning would suggest intent ?

people top their cars up in their drives, or buy the stuff at a local car shop and chuck it in the car outside the shop. They might spill a little which will sit on the tarmac and run into puddles when it rains. I am not sure if they still do but some screenwash solutions also used to have antifreeze in.
Thanks Albs xxx
They only need to lick a small amount for it to be fatal. Even a few drops spilt when you top your car up is enough to kill a cat or dog.
Woofgang the antifreeze in winscreen wash is usually iso-propyl acohol which is not poisonous fortunately.
Also be careful in the winter when there's ice and snow. Those bags of salted grit that you can put on your driveway / path have anti freeze in it.
