Did anyone watch the new 3 episode of 'Upstairs Downstairs'? I couldn't watch it at the time but recorded it and have just watched it back to back.
I enjoyed it and didn't Jean Marsh play her part excellently.

I'd like to see a new and longer series. -- Any comments?

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do hope a series is planned.

Well Jem,
When I heard about it I must admit I was most dubious, weren't we all?
However,I thought it was very well done, and that having Jean Marsh there enabled us to have just enough of a link to the old series.
I do think that maybe they could have made 6 episodes,3 as shown and 3 more over the New Year Holiday.
Of course it was left quite open ended, and being 1936 all the trials of WW2 would have been soon upon them.
I (sadly) don't think we WILL see any more as the BBC doesn't seem to have the will(or the money) for big drama series any more.
We can sit and hope though can't we?
Absolutely brilliant .Hope there will be another series .
Lots have knocked it but it has to be better than this mind numbing drivel of has beens ,dancing or skating or people screaming at talentless singers that they churn out .
The BBC do this sort of thing so well.I love period drama.
Larkrise is back in a week or two :)

LARKRISE? -- Is it? didn't know that. Is it new or repeats? but I'll watch it anyway.

jem
Larkrise starts on January 9th, I believe.
My husband got fed up with Larkrise so I have lots of recorded episodes to catch up with before the next series starts. I've told him he'll just have to put up with the next batch. An hour a week won't hurt him - and he can always go and do something else.
Never watched it, although got hooked on Downton Abbey

You're right naomi when you consider the sport we have to put up with.

My H has bought himself a little 19" screen TV so that he's prepared for the onslaught of the Olympics in 2012. He's got it in the spare room & has now set it up so LARKRISE bring it on.

That's just the point, Jem. When he's watching rugby I leave him alone and go and do something else - but will he do rhe same for me with Larkrise? Will he hell?! Well, he's just going to have to. I'm putting my foot down with a very firm hand. ;o)
I think I read somewhere jem that Larkrise will only be six episodes this time .
Yes Downton Abbey was great too Elvis. Maggie Smith stole the whole thing .What a superb actress and the bonus of the dishy Hugh Bonneville :).
It was brilliant .
I love this sort of thing .Bring back stuff like that .
I'm an old fogey ,mesmerised by the Forsyte Saga ,Poldark ,The Onedin Line and Brideshead Revisited :)
