How it Works

Deleted email

I have, stupidly, deleted an email with an important word doc attached. I forgot I was working on it as an attachment and deleted it! HELP!

Do you have an Undo option. Or it could be in deleted items or trash.

What email package were you using? Outlook? If so, it'll be in your deleted items.

Some things we have to put down to experience suzyangel. We've all done stupid things with our pc's. Look on the bright side; you won't do it again! (I've learnt not to press the shift key when I delete as that deletes it altogether. Always check the deleted mails - and the recycle bin - before deleting them too!

Are you using Outlook rather than Outlook Express? If so, go into deleted items, then click on tools ----- recover deleted items and it should be in there.

Go to www.download.com and search for free recovery software.

When you delete something in a Windows application, it is simply marked as disk space that may be overwritten (used for another purpose). The computer does not waste time overwriting the memory space which was occupied by the deleted item. In time, the document may be overwritten, so it’s best to try and recover it ASAP.
