to free up space. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced tv bracket that tilts and swivels. I do not have the best of eyesight as I get older, so I need something I can move about ?

Are you being serious, ivor?
It would be more relevant to know if the TV is LED (quite light) or plasma (probably not) as plasmas are much heavier.
It is possible, as long as you have space in the room behind:

You need to look at your manual and check that your tv is capable of being wall mounted with a bracket. The manual will give the distance between the mounting holes if you can't see them easily on the back of the tv.

Make sure the bracket has the same hole distance as your tv. Most are universal but not all.
We have a bracket for the old-style CRT TV. Admittedly it's only for about a 20" TV but it does tilt (a bit) and swivel. Mind you, we no longer have the TV.
You also need to consider the cables - they look unsightly running up the wall from the socket, and any peripherals such as recorders and sky/virgin boxes etc.
