How long are eggs good

My eggs have a "use by" date of June 24th on them. Should I throw them out?

make a cake.I've always used my out of date eggs in cakes and I'm still alive. For goodness sake the eggs don't know the date. They don't all go off at the stroke of midnight on their use by date

To test for freshness, just put an egg in a bowl of cold water... if it sits at the bottom of the bowl it is ok, if it tilts up a bit, still ok but going slightly stale. If it floats then put it in the compost or rubbish bin.

Eggs kept in a fridge are good for a month; at room temp about 3 weeks. If you want to use them quickly try creme caramel.....

i used 4 in an omlette this week dated 9th june and suffered no ill effects. i regularly use well out of date eggs. if they smell ok when you crack them, then they're fine.
