I've just put a chicken in the oven with lemon, garlic and thyme. Just called my mum to come round for lunch and bring a few spuds as I've only got a couple left.

My mum has made pastitsio so she's bringing that round. Yummm!
I hahave slow cooked pulled pork with crackling,

Can I come, NoM. Don't know what we have yet.

I have always wondered what "pulled" pork is ? How does it differ from pork that hasn't been "pulled" ?

Mustard ? With pork ?
Mustard ? With pork ?

Why not mikey, a lot of people have it with ham.
But pork isn't ham. I suppose its horses for courses. Someone once poured tomato ketchup all over my carbonara sauce, although they were not invited to dinner ever again.

What is "pulled" pork please...does anybody know ?
Its a euphemism, Mike. ;)
Sorry...being a bit thick perhaps but an euphemism for what exactly. Not that habit beloved of adolescent boys I hope Svejk...its Sunday morning !
Pulled pork is a pork joint cooked very slowly, the end result is shredded like meat which you 'pull' apart very easily with a couple of forks.

NoM, your dinner sounds fab, I love cavalo nero but it seems difficult to get hold of near me. I'm have stew and dumplings.

oddly enough, i'm not really hungry, so i am not motivated to get up and prepare anything

Such iniquitous conversation on a Sunday thread - I'm blushing here.

Anyone want to peel my spuds? And no, that's not a euphemism...

Rocky, I know Asda and Morrisons have it.
Nothing for me (all Vicks and such), trying to shift a bad cold.

Maybe a sandwich later, don't feel very hungry.

But pork isn't ham.

LOL.
I have the most wonderful cold home cooked turkey and home baked brioche sandwich....just meat, sea salt and a little butter.
We are having a Pot Roast Nungate is going to do that while I get on with my fave past-time veg prep love it!!!
Thanks NoM, there's a Morrisons not too far away, I'll try and pop in during the week.
son has gone vegetarian so its hard to cook something

when he is here at the weekend,it usually ends up 'pasta stuff'
Wild field mushrooms, home grown mini courgettes fried in lard with organic chicken eggs (fork whipped) chucked over for omelette with outdoor toms and slice brown bread to slurp up fried sediment. Am waiting any fallout ;)

off to raid apple trees
NoM, how do you eat all that? We couldn't face that much on a plate... except for at Christmas.

There's a chicken in the fridge, we've just had a cream cake. That's as far as we've got today.
