Well we have guests today in the form of OH'S parents.

I'm doing Slow-cooked free-range chicken, slow-roasted pork belly, pigs in blankets, parsnips, twice cooked roasties, sausage meat stuffing with almond and apricot, creamed spinach, broccoli, carrots, peas (and processed peas for FIL), savoy cabbage, sprouts and chestnuts and gravy.

Banoffee and Baileys Brioche bread and butter pudding with custard and vanilla ice cream for afters.

Garden martini cocktails prior to serving out.

Lobster on the beach with a glass of champagne (they call it champagne but it'll probably be Californian sparkling) then a couple of cups of rum punch

It was very tasty :) Not had the grapes yet though.

Am trying to work out some IBS triggers, had the same thing for lunch and last night for tea! Still nice though.
Aww Eve, any luck finding recipes on line?
Am making some spicey wings,but not sure what to have alongside. Not really hungry...went for tapas last night with lil pasta and her BF,then we went to an asian buffet today. DD'S idea for a quick meal and not what I'd have. Too oily/sugary / heavy. So I feel blah. :-(
Doesn't suit everyone's digestion pasta, but I would have loved that.

These threads really do give you ideas don't they? There are a few detractors who think they're boring and useless, I've had a couple of comments when I've started them on the food section...good job I ignored them!
I love reading what other people are having, especially when I'm going through a difficult to get motivated phase.
Have to say, I'd love to be eating lobster on the beach too... :)
I had Indian takeaway, chips and Robinsons lemon squash.

Absolutely, ethandron. And if I've managed to draw inspiration somewhere on this thread for my next recipe, it's from Eccles. You, she, Ummmm and DT are among my favourite foodies here, not forgetting 237SJ, Dave and Co for their vinicultural input.
Recalling the first time I cooked for my 'outlaws'. FIL heaped compliments on the feast and thereby created a lifelong distaste of MIL for me.....that passed to my kids, gkids. MIL is dead now but not before doing her utmost to damage me & mine.
so sorry to hear that, tambo....my mil and I often agreed to disagree but with my cooking, she never complained, evident from the demolished plates!

Gosh, Tambo, that sounds quite scary and mean.

My MIL has never cooked for me but FIL did do cooked brekkie each morning in St Ives x
DT...where do you get Dim Sum from in Plymouth? Daughter was down for a flying visit...and wanted some. I hadn't a clue where we could get it.
Just a warning NOM, always include MIL in recipe so you dont suffer likewise.
