Just wondered, who generally always has a pudding after their evening meal? I noticed that on other threads a lot of puddings are listed when people say what they are having for dinner, but we never have one.
My son might grab an ice-cream from the freezer, or a yoghurt, but thats about it.
So who regularly makes a pudding, and is it a big part of your meal for you?

not every night though
Turn that bloody fig roll round will ya.
No-never did when I was married. Now I will have a square or two of very dark chocolate-that's it.
I don't because I am normally full. But Mr BM loves his puds and has one every night. He came home on Tuesday and asked if I can make him an "alcoholic bread and butter pud" which I was meant to do tonight but I've been too busy. Unfortunately, we are clean out of puds today and I cba to make one either.
its a fig roll, i wondered what it was.....
I note they're still called "Desserts" on restaurant menus.

barmaid - I am always too full for a pud too. Same if we go out to dinner, I will often really fancy a pud on the menu but am normally too full to order it.
Re Mr BM - pour him a glass of wine and hand him a slice of bread and butter.........)
How can ye have any puddin, when ye wont eat yer meat?
pmsl Smow. He'll kick me out!

I really ought to get up and cook him something. He's been hard landscaping all day and the garden really is starting to look fab so I suppose he deserves a bit of a treat.
Chocolate and fudge hot pudding tonight....nice to have one occasionally.
I might occasionally microwave a tin of semolina.
you shouldn't put tins in the microwave, JJ

does a runner to get out of the flying can
'out of the way of the flying can' - yeah gads.
Jeez! lol

Okay ...

"I might occasionally microwave some semolina that came in a tin"
I do mostly. But ice cream, yoghurts, and fruit don't count as a pudding in my book.

I was born in 1953 and all the puddings of my youth came with custard and stuck to the sides on the way down. If I had to choose between Apple pie, Apple and Blackberry pie, Rhubarb Pie and Cherry Pie, I would have to have a small piece of each !

My Mum made all her own of course, plus a wicked Lemon Meringue Pie But laziness these days means that mostly they come from the freezer. Can I recommend Aldi's fruit strudels ? Delicious !

I still make my own custard though.
I lick the plate clean. Thats my pudding!
The only puddings we have now are in the summer when we have fresh fruit and ice cream.
I'll have a pudding at the weekend but rarely during the week. I sometimes have a yogurt in the evening during the week but I don't class that as a pudding.
dessert!!!

puddings are those heavy suety spongey things, served with custard :o)

and yes, I crave something sweet after a meal.. chocolate, cake, anything!
If I'm out for a meal if the puddings look good, I'll order one for starter, that way I get to enjoy it and finish it. If I wait till I've had a main then have pudding I'm too full to enjoy. Hubby just rolls his eyes and pretends he's not with me.
