Trying to recreate a bit of the homeland... can anyone advise how long a Scotch pie should be fried for and at what temperature?

Ditto for steak pies.

Yes, yes, it's vastly unhealthy. But.

You have just given me indigestion - yuck
Used to get these with chips from my local chippy in the past. They were just put in the chip fryer for about one and a half to two minutes. Taken out, and a cut made on an edge, then put aside for a minute or two to let the oil drain out. Oh, that deep fried pastry - lovely!
Scotch pie in a roll with ketchup, lovely!
Though not good for the heart!!!!!
Oh! B****r now will not be able to think of anything else!

Thanks for the answers. Two minutes seems short - I'm guessing it had been cooked first?

if you must, you must

I zap 'em in the microwave for 30 seconds, then a further 30, top outer crust is crispy, the rest is nicely moist.
