Morrisons used to be two for £7. Now £5.49 each. Ridiculous.

I understand a VAT increase has been applied.
Good news. ASDA two for £6. £4.50 each, a bargain.

Thought I would share that.

Agneau au sel is delish, Rev, lamb that is brought down to the estuary and fed on the sea grasses.....Northern France and the Solway Firth for such lamb. Then there is Agneau du Lait, lamb fed solely on milk (much younger than calves), the meat white.............

I wouldn't eat one if you paid me. Poor things probably spent their sorry little lives in a tiny cage...

Sadly so. The chicken population worldwide must be enormous.

I love lamb chops but hate to think of the poor little mites.

I have read that DT. six to eight weeks before their demise.

All down to profits really.

I thought "caponising" was no longer practised, must look it up.
remember being told that on the day they announced Mad Cow. I was in the Tesco's Head Office and one of their senior managers imparted that gem of information. Have eaten free range ever since (when I have known).

I thought it was just battery hens kept in cages.

Roastings chickens, so I understand, are subjected to light on, feed, light off, perch.

That way they put max weight on for min effort, all rather cruel, but, I love roast chicken at a reasonable price.

I will never eat veal.

A friend of a friend at a restaurant declined veal as she did not want to eat a young animal. She opted for the lamb.

worth tracking down....
Veal calves are born in dairy herds, so would go straight for slaughter otherwise - and probably end up as feed for battery roasting chickens
I'd have thought it was worth at least £5:49 for a chicken that has not been abused but enjoyed a decent life up to the point it's time was up and it became food. Heck, that's a veritable bargain. Don't know how they'd do it.
