than you do on your annual electricity bill. There is a report out that we spend more on coffee, either from costa packet, or megabucks, you know the skinnny innie laaateees stuff, than we do on electricity. I worked out how many cups i drink a day, and no i'm not saying, but per week its horrendous, and not the shop bought stuff either, wouldn't waste my money, it still works out a small fortune.
trigg, i totally agree, but this report was suggesting, and i do think there is some truth in it, that people on way to work, and lunch times, do buy this stuff, costing a small fortune. I once tried megabucks, vile, tasteless, expensive muck
In my last job it was common to see young girls strolling into work with large paper mugs full of so-called special coffee, which they had bought at the rip-off rail/bus interchange. I once asked how much it had cost per cup. On being told £2.50 I replied, " Never, I could buy a whole jar of Nescafé for that and it would last me a month". From then on I was nicknamed 'Nescafé man"
i do buy the odd coffee from costa on my way in buts its not often and no way more than my elec bill. Don;t drink it at home or work so £3 maybe once a month or so
Last time I had a cup of tea in a café it cost me £1 and tasted like water bewitched and tea begrudged. At home I enjoy a nice cup of Tetley's extra strong. Cost including milk and electricity for the kettle: 3p. 'Nuff said.
I've never compared but I'm fairly sure I pay nowhere near the size of my electricity bill on coffee. After all coffees out are rare events. They are so overpriced they need to do something special if I'm going to spend that much on them. So that excludes regular visits to the chains. And the jars from the supermarket are quite expensive enough, thank you.
Have you seen the obscene cost of sanitary protection em?
Oh so pleased I have had 'my time'..LOL
sorry I know it's about coffee but these prices for people who "must have" are shocking, Heaven help a household with Mum and 3/4 daughters :-(
