While most people want to hear the truth in such matters, it is a sad fact that when it comes to even more important matters dealing with life and death, with one’s relationship to God, and with one’s obligations to his fellowman, many do not want to hear the truth.(John 17:3)

Jolly good. Happy New Year to you, too, goodlife.
Not YOUR form of truth certainly. Go away and wallow in your childish superstitions.
You couldn't handle the truth!!

A Few Good Men
Yet more cut and paste, goodlife.
No doubt you will soon remind us of how your prophets warned we would just go on fulfilling your expectation of being laughed at by the non-believers.

Your dogma has no clause that permits it to ever consider that it is all rubbish despite the fact that it is certainly rubbish.

Go ahead and wallow in your ignorance. We don't care.
You have your truth and I have mine, goodlife.

I have no interest in foisting my thoughts and beliefs onto you, I would hope you would do the same.
Are you sure it 'aint you who is being deceived mate? Of the hundred and odd JW's who have been to my door, all they really understood was that they alone had the truth. Get 'em off their narrow script and they knew nowt.

thanks for that goodlife . i was just thinking the same these last few days ;-)
You told us if we want the truth it's all in the bible. So logically chapter one
Genesis is a good place to start and within the first 20 verses God slaughters more than two million people including thousands of infants and babies. Was he justified ? Is this an example of your God and eternal life ?
John 17:3
Which one are you going to concentrate on today?

The Truth,
From a JW?
I think not!
Lol Goodlife, did you enjoy a good P!ss up over Christmas, Oh but of course, you don't celebrate Christmas!!

Well I dont either but I do like to hear the tales of Santa and baby Jesus and other such stories to while away the hours.
>>>with one’s relationship to God

What relationship?

Something you don't know exists, have never seen or heard from, and has never contacted you (unless something in your head THINKS you have heard from this mythical thing).

So how can you have any sort of relationship?
You have been told repeatedly that the truth is that God does not exist! and never did.
Truth

Do not believe anything
because it is said by an authority,
or if it is said to come from angels,
or from gods,
or from an inspired source.

Believe it only if you have explored it
in your own heart
and mind and body
and found it to be true.

Work out your own path,
through diligence.

Goodlife I'm waiting for an answer . It's a simple question : How was God justified slaughtering over 2 million people ? We know it's true , you said so , it's in the bible !
If it's the truth about whether my butt looks big in these snakeskin pants then I can probably live without knowing...
I am convinced I already know the truth about not just one but all religions: They are, to each and every one of their adherents, their private opinions/beliefs. I am not inclined to persuade any of them as to the merits or not of those private opinions but what I find objectionable is when they try to insist on dictate on the basis of those opinions that they are right and everyone else is wrong. Worst of all is when religion is used in the exercise of power.

I do not confuse religion with basic cultural customs unconnected to or preceding the religious dimension but it is often difficult to disentangle the two because one is often mixed with the other.
