...the pub quiz again......you can tell our film and TV buff is back with us....
The applause for the winners is getting slower and less enthusiastic each week so.....
We are having a week off....it was either that or not try to win.....and no way was I having that.......
I do, Maggie....don't know how long this one will carry on for with the new pub owners.....
Nobody uses phones at this one which is great...and makes it much more fun....x
Mobiles should be banned from pub quizzes - definitely not allowed at the ones I go to. Spoils all the fun, and wouldn't want to win if I had to cheat anyway. Enjoy your week off then get back in there and slay them!
Patsy....it's the worst plonk you can imagine.......Dave makes me mark it with a big red X so we don't serve it to guests or drink it by accident......
It will be donated to a bottle tombola.....anonymously..... :-)
Well done Gness.
Myself and a few friends started attending a monthly quiz night at a local church hall a few years ago. We won that first one, then won the second one and when we won the third one, the hand clapping was noticeably less enthusiastic as well.
A few months ago we had 10 questions on the bible. We scored 10/10. The vicar's team scored 9. Its official, atheists know more about the Bible than vicars lol.
Maggie...I was at a fund raising quiz in a hall.....I complained to the quizmaster about those all around me openly using phones...
He told me that all is fair in love and war...I should get my phone out too.........
We left.....what's the fun in winning by cheating......we're delighted to win by our knowledge....delighted and surprised!
Thanks, Marval...and yes Patsy.....if you bat around a question and throw words at each other you will often stumble on an answer and that's fun and a joy......I'd feel flat if I just googled it...x
