(This is a rerun of a question I asked a while back in the main category. Didn't get any replies there - could it be that the real buffs dwell in subcategories only? Sorry to be such a pain in the proverbial but I really want that poster - if indeed it exists.)

I used to own a black-and-white photo postcard from a Martha Graham production where dancer Merce Cunningham comes flying through the air in one giant leap. A woman (Graham?) sits at her desk in a jaded pose studying his flight toward her as if she were assessing his flying techniques rather than anticipating his company. Cunningham's body is cram full with energy, he's like a spring just released; looking at the picture you feel he must surely bounce once he lands.

I'd love to have this photo on my wall as a poster but haven't been able to find it. I'm good at advanced googling but search engines do provide different results in different countries - so if you're in the mood for some googling and you don't live in Sweden...

Well nothing English about my "garden" or the weather, but we do have Robins.

I'm sticking with slow, slow, quickstep, slow. Can you see me doing "Breakdance, crusaito (crossing legs) maiqueyaso (trotting on spot) and El Robotcop? I was all in knots. BTW Robi those "things" don't come into it at all!!!
you have to do all the writing in november Kit...the committment is to write 50,000 words in one month.I just felt the need to commit to doing something different in the future.
Just been out and got wet again, stopped off for shopping so I let the boys out into the garden when I got home, put my foot on a nice muddy bit and fell down a wooden step...ended up sitting in the mud with two pups on top of me and a wacking great horizontal bruise on my back....I think I'll give up the gracious living lark for good!

Are there still pearly kings and queens? I remember seeing them in parades when I was little.

The heating is back on today and tort is sstill upstairs gorging himself on organic lambs lettuce....global warming??? tell me about it!!

I am so glad I am not the only one to live in "old sheet chic" during the winter..used to whip them off when we had visitors...now I don't bother!!
just remembered, the lovely lady who we used to have weimaraners from used to put what she called "dog traps" in her chairs to keep the dogs off the 3 piece. One dog trap was a silver candelabra (real) another was a huge silver teapot (also real) left to her by her mother she used to say that you might as well get some use out of them!!
Forgot to say yes Vin I did watch the match last night a real 'nailbiter'. Going to my son's tonight to watch Liverpool win as I don't have Sky :o)
...I'm in hysterics at 'old sheet chic' (careful!) woofy & positively squealing at dog traps... hahaha...I have to do that too!! Charlie - now clipped & stripped & half the man he was a few hours ago - isn't supposed to take flying leaps on & off the furniture 'cos of the back problems he used to have, so when I'm not around I have to leave the place looking like it's been ransacked. And recently with my bad back I've had to construct a kind of stairway (please don't ask) so he can get on & off the settee at night when we settle down without me having to lift him....suddenly I'm not alone on planet pug.

sorry about your friend Jude...life's really cruel sometimes, usually to those who least deserve it. Enjoy your whirling 'n twirling on Fri...has Andy still got all his floppy hair? :o) For pity's sake have a word with neti about dancing - if this is what she means please tell her NO!!...

shame about your par...pad...(oh why don't you like rubies) Kit hope you'll soon be reunited, if only in your dreams

I'll give him 'back to the hoovering'......... buffer off.... :o)

That's the one Robi and if I damn well concentrate I can do it, just loads slower than everyone else.
....and if I damn well concentrate I can just about block that image from my mind

:o)

Oh I see, Woofgang - I was thinking they held a new competition every month...! / Silver candelabra and silver tea pot, those are some sophisticated dogs. I say, which club do they belong to?

Jude I think it's safe to say that "boring" is the last adjective in cosmos that would come to anyone's mind to describe you - bangles, beads or not.

Today is the birthday of our king, Carl Gustaf. One of the things he's never allowed to forget, he he, is a blooper he made more than twenty years ago when visiting a town called Arboga but addressing the crowd with "Dear citizens of rebro" (another Swedish town.) He has dyslexia, as do all the royal children, and was the object of much ridicule when he was younger i.e. before people in general learned about dyslexia. This blooper however I think he finds funny himself, it has seemed so over the years. I'll show it to you 'cos it's funny when the mob starts to grumble, it's rather like a scene from a Monty Python movie: dear citizens

Charlie says:
Kit your link didn't work but a quick google for pet ramps tells me that if my slave bought one she'd have to give up the custards for a month...and that wouldn't be good for either of us. I'll have to make do with her 'make-do'...thanks all the same.

morning
.....all off doing some May Day cavorting I see
Shaney & Vinny, stop that at once
TUT!
The only cavorting I've been doing is down the doctors with my foot ! I caught this off Jno yer know ...Not fluid ..but thickening of the bone due to ..guess what ..bloomin' arthritics .I have to have it xrayed just to be sure .I don't think there is much more of my body left to get it in ...although I suppose you could get arthritis of the earlobes ..nothing would surprise me .So that's Maypole dancing out and the Chici Chici contortions ..and I was doing so well !
Hope you are all OK otherwise ..fed up with this rain ..one minute it's sunny then it slops down .
Sorry to hear about your friend Jude not fair is it ?
Well I've just put me "chic " sheets on the line and they can stay there. I refuse to keep hobbling in and out .
We got rid of our big settee a while back and after the chaps heaved it out I found a thick black mat underneath it and Shaney had been gone a couple of months ....!!
I still find the odd dog hair here and there ..haha..
Says a lot for my slap dash household engineering !!
Question Author
Oh Shaney I can relate to how you felt standing in front of the "mat"; I kept finding cat hairs. I once read somewhere it takes twenty years to clean out a house after a cat has died, and they didn't mean metaphorically. So sorry about your foot too. Getting older is the ultimate I-don't-think-we're-in-Kansas-anymore-experience, isn't it.

I know, Chas old boy, it's so sad. Have you seen her avatar? She could have gotten you a HoundAbout (a pet stroller) too at that site, but no, Cake Comes First.

cake!

CAAAAAKE!!!

Question for Woofy: just what the hell is this guy's problem??

Wakey Wakey..!yo

Morning all - am off for a jolly with Mr N today, a nice lunch somewhere on the island before the tourists rampage through it, although it open season now. Lovely warm pleasant day. Have a week of fiestas now, and a popular Spanish group performing for free tonight so all the roads and the big car park are now shut, with buses bringing in the people I shall trot down and have a listen. Will make jude proud!! Mothers Day on Sunday so have bought myself some out-of-date Quality Street!

Poor shaney you aswell?, rest the foot, I expect jno is leaping about like the proverbial something or other!!

Love to you all x
Good morning all. sorry to hear about the foot Shaney...still at least it hasn't affected your brain!
Kit, torts and turtles can be amazingly aggressive, especially the males, I wouldn't risk my tort like that though, one cat paw bash or a bite would be all it took.
Robi when our dog got frail we put foam pads in front of the settee effectively raising the floor and making it easier for her to climb on and off and yes we had a ramp to get her into the car. We used to take her to one place to walk where there was a bank we could reverse up to for her to climb out. The guys are allowed to jump out of the car now (you don't let big puppies jump down off things too early because tit can damage their shoulders.) they can't yet jump in (too high) so we do "front paws up" then lift the back end in...immense fun when they are gassy, you can guarantee that's the moment when they will release some!
Oddly DH has contracted a mystery elbow injury that means that he can't do the back end lifting in.....now could he be fibbing to his dear unsuspecting wife I wonder??
Alright...very funny..!
Who sent that giant cloud over...erm..this will sort the blighters out yo(( to derby and behond))...ey...its still up there..? oh bu66er forgot to plug it in>>>>(:O)
