I leave them in, in case there's a fire
I don't even know where our back door key is. We look the front one as the kids have access to it, but the back one is never locked.
I take them out, don't know why just always done it

We automactily lock both front and back conservatory door, just a habit now.
He takes keys up to bed with him, I never think of doing that.
lock the doors, take the keys out, why, habit I suppose.
..Leave them in. The doors can't be unlocked from outside if the key is in the lock inside. ..

But if you are taken ill or something you'd want a relative to be able to unlock from the outside rather than have to break the door down

I have to take mine out as I live on my own . My kids have keys but I was locking my door taking keys out and leaving chain on lol .i would much prefer to leave the keys in but kids would not get in if there was an emergency.
We take them out. If someone does break in, we don't want to make it easy for them to open the door to let his mate in (or to let our property out).
I take them out and hang them up on a hook, not visible from both front and read doors, as both have glass panels and it would be far too easy to break the glass and turn the keys.
I leave them in the solid front door but take them out of the back and conservatory because they both have glass. For some reason I think a burglar could punch one of those neat circles in the glass and reach through to unlock the door.
My reasoning same as Prudie's. Take front door key out and put in drawer in hall table. Back door key goes into small jar.
To leave the keys in the door is asking for trouble.
We leave them in but I'm not sure I would if I lived in a town or city.
We tend to leave our front door key in the door. The back door key hangs up in a cupboard.

They come out, don't want someone unlocking the door from outside with a **** tool, easy to do if a mortise key is left in the lock, I've done it
we take the key out if we lock up and a young alba is going to be back late (providing they've taken their key with them)

apart from last night, Mr Alba locked, left key in AND put chain on.

Dog and young alba woke me at 2 am, words were exchanged when Mr Alba surfaced :-D
The only security, if that's what you could call it, that I have is to make sure that the front flap of the tent is tightly zippered up and then held in position by a safety-pin.
That's sensible Stewey,, with the safety pin, but is the tent skewered into the ground securely to prevent it blowing away?
What if you need a pee in the night stuey?
