The vet's never seen this before...she had sores/ulcers all over. They just seemed to be scabs through her fur. She's been shaved, given 14 day antibiotics jab, and I need to treat the wounds with Manuka honey. She's back on Monday...and then tests for possible feline leukaemia or aids.
I just want to cry...wish I'd taken her sooner...though that may not have made a difference.

Pasta, not to scare you but there is a “new” disease in dogs....Alabama Rot? that starts with ulcers. Its not been known in cats, but just in case, you might talk to your vet about contacting Anderson Moores Veterinary Practice.

Its weird that you mention that woof,as someone else did yesterday. But...shes an indoor cat.
What Barmaid mentioned is similar. But I'm not sure amber will last long enough to have any tests...oh how I wish for a miracle!
Thank you all for your kind thoughts.
Everything crossed hoping for better/good news when Amber sees the vet and hugs to you, for courage xx
Pasta have been following this and thinking of you and Amber. Also hope for a miracle and that she pulls through whatever it is. Must be such an upsetting time.
Well if she is an indoor cat, it can’t be that......I have added you and her to my prayers.

Off to vet in a bit. Shes been finding tight paces to hide in....this morning wedged between a very heavy pine cupboard and the wall. She's ready to go...god knows where she got the strength from.
Good luck pasta hope all goes well xx
Good luck pasta,
fingers crossed Pasta xx
Question Author
Maybe there *is* hope
They are doing blood tests so at the very least we might know the cause and whether treatment is an option...and how other cat might be affected. I was so psyched up...expecting to say goodbye
still have everything crossed :-)
Thanks for letting us know Pasta xx

When do you hope to hear results?
Awe pasta , fingers crossed, did the vet think she was any better today ?
Question Author
I'll hear from them around 2pm, but will probably get results when I return to-hopefully-pick her up.
It was a different vet...but he seemed fairly positive.
I just don't want to get my hopes up too much.
Please keep us updated sweetie, us cat owners are all behind you xx
and us dog owners too! xxx
Question Author
...and I've got both!
Of course woof, I have both too and I should have said cat slaves!!

Good-ish news. I work 4 hours per week and it just happens to be on a Monday afternoon. I am not sure if this site is on their 'barred' list so I will be worried for both you and Amber until I crawl home.
Question Author
Crap news...
...they think it may be a skin cancer. Test for aids/leukaemia came back negative
A biopsy and results would take a week, and even with palliative care she may not be strong enough to last.
I don't think I want to put her through a week of who knows what...
I'm sorry pasta .
