Ah mumsie, that is just so sad. Was in the same position a few years ago and it is really hard. Comfort yourself with the thought that you did the right thing, you couldn't have let her suffer. Pets are just members of our family which is why it is a great wrench. Take care.

so sorry to hear your sad news.

Nearly 13 years of joy, laughter, frustration and smiles along with cuddles.
So sorry to hear. Woody has a friend to play with but definitely not where we want our pets to play with each other.

Thanks for all your kind words. Topsy was indeed a much loved cat, she was 'mine' and just loved to cuddle up under my chin. She is missed so much..

I am so sorry to read that mw. It makes your home a desperately sad place for quite a while. Bless you for looking after your pets and doing the right thing for them. So many of us have been there. Perhaps you will be able to give another cat a good home in the not too distant future xx

Oh that's sad. I'm sure she was loved and that she had a lovely life with you. Take comfort from it.

I'm so sorry, mumsie - I know what it's like, your only comfort is that you did the right thing, for both your ***. Big hugs ((♥))

Thankyou again to all you lovely people. I often read 'Rainbow Bridge' it is such a lovely poem and helps with the loss of ones pet.
ttfn, I don't think I will get another cat, I do still have one at home, his name is Milo and he is 9 years old. He is a big heavy solid cat, but as soft as butter. He is friends with all my neighbours and goes knocking on their doors for treats (no wonder he is so big!!). I also have a retired greyhound, and a German Shepherd. They all get on very well.

|
mw - I am pleased you still have some 4-legs to look after you :) They give great solace at times like this. I hated to think of you totally petless as you obviously cared so much for them.
|
|
so sorry to see you have lost her xxx
|
|
Sorry to hear that sad news, she was obviously much loved and had a good life. xxx

Aw mumsie how horrible, there sees to be a lot of it recently.

I'm so sad for you to have lost two precious friends close together.
If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last battle cannot be won
You will be sad I underatand
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
For this day more than all the rest
Your love for me must stand the test
We've had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears
You'd not want me to suffer so
The time has come please let me go
Take me where my needs they'll tend
And stay with me until the end
Hold me firm and talk to me
Until my eyes no longer see
I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you do for me
Although my tail it's last has waved
From pain and suffering I've been saved
Please do not grieve it must be you
Who has this painful thing to do
We've been so close, we two these years
Don't let your heart hold back its tears
Don't know why but I found some comfort in this verse when we had to have our old boy put to sleep in August, he was nearly 20 years old a most beloved cat. I'll be thinking of you as my cats get their goodnight cuddle tonight.
