Driving without a tax disc

Can anyone tell me if you are allowed to drive a car on the road if you purchase a tax disc on line but it has not arrived yet? (Bleeding DVLA are on strike today so I can't ask them!!)...

Noise from PC on booting up

The last couple of days my PC has given out a loud buzzing/vibrating noise on booting up. If I switch off straight away and restart the noise is still there, but if I let the machine continue to boot...
