Why are we waiting?

Yesterday afternoon I sorted an Avatar for myself, site then informed me it would be 5-10 minutes before it would activate. 24+hours later it is still inactive. Anyone else had this problem?...

Honest folks, I've just had my medication so I know I'm ok (for a while) it was the editors/deputy editors avatar and it headed every page, even the man here in the white-coat saw it.

I just entered 'control + F5' and that annoying picture of a Gnome that monopolised the top of every AB page vanished, now that,s a result.
