What are your favourite words?
I have already propounded the words sundry and aestivate.
Others are egregious and pusillanimous.

....so did I, Daisy
Just looked that word up woofgang. I like it a very good description.
Serendipity, both the sound of the word and what it means.
If you like words you will like this site
http://www.merriam-webster.com/quiz/index.htm
There is a vocabulary quiz every day, try it and see how you get on. My best so far 3250, can you do better?
Hyperbole........of course.....☺
Thanks, Eddie. I'll have a look at that.

Etymological is another favourite of mine.
Ah EDDIE, word of the day Beholden.
Ooops wrong thread.
Interesting site, Eddie.....and interesting average scores for the age groups...x
I can never understand why people use big words in lieu of minuscule variations which are perfectly and suitably adequate in the conveyance of the intended meaning of one's oral or written discourse.
I click on 'take the quiz' and nothing happens.

I just love words
Just done it and got 3180, but it is VERY slow to load and come up with the scores. Normally a lot faster.
Favourite words 'bad kitty' (no, that's really most used words).
I love words too. Obsequious and obstreperous are ones I'm fond of.
