In the middle of SP1814's thread, berating the Lady Imalia, I saw this, revelation, from anotheoldgit…

//*** The Answerbank was started in 2000 by a company called FreontOfMind which is a subsidiary of The Daily Mail. ***//

I have have made light-hearted comments, in the past, accusing AOG of being a full-time DM stooge (every time you follow a link he posts, they gain a page hit and that equals ad revenue) but this tells me I wasn't far off being right.
;-D

By way of a question: Were you aware of this website's link to the Daily Mail?
Auxiliary question: Did you sometimes suspect there might be a link, due to the constant stream of threads, linking to that organ?

(My answers are "Not until today" and "Yes".

No I didn't know and don't care either. As said the DM has a very easy and full website. I notice that neither The Sun nor The Mirror is often linked to on AB, presumably that's a step too far to admit one reads it looking for thread fodder.

I find it hard to believe. The site has a left-wing bias. You have to be a card-carrying commie to be considered as a moderator. imo, of course.

Hee hee.

The fact that it has filled up with people of a particular persuasion is somewhat beyond the control of whoever sets it up.

It will amuse the Mail's owners no end to think that the majority of the ABers clicking links to their stories are incensed left-wingers, no?
:-)

Loose lips sink ships, keep it under your hat.
Yes I knew that, No I don't think there is a link.
I knew it.

Love or loath the Daily Mail it does have one of the best websites...

On here, we do have, to a certain extent, freedom of speech.
Yes I knew, and no I don't.
I'm one of of Svejk's 'card-carrying commies' ( not a mod though) and I usually link to the Daily Mail website because as Ummm says it has a better and more user friendly website than most other papers, it doesn't mean I agree with them.

I post links from whichever paper is carrying the story I want to talk about. I'm not a snob. ;o)
