I can't see anything about her deserting the nest but he's saying that because food has been scarce this year and lots of competition for it he thinks they will only lay 2 eggs next year. He says the chicks are still in the nest and that it's a good thing because many other have long since been gone and that he thinks there will only be a few more days of being able to...

Thanks for the translation, kvalidir. I was concerned because I have not seen a parent bird for at least three days and the owlets have not been fed.

I wonder if they will rescue them, if the parents have abandoned them. Surely, they will not let them starve to desth.

According to the video of 3rd June, the mother brought them a rabbit and a hedgehog to feed them.
The webcam should run till the end of June, but for next year there's a question of financing to be solved. The tv station SWR is withdrawing.

and it goes on: the youngsters will soon fly the nest and need lots of energy food.

So I take it the nest won't be needed by the end of June.

I have just found out, on the Dyfi website chat, that the owlets are fine and are being well fed. I just haven't seen it. Phew!
