As a replacement for my old Transit I've been offered a late model LDV Maxus van, but as it's quite a few years since LDV went bust I'm a bit worried about parts supply should I need anything, also does anyone know how reliable these vans were and who's engine did they use in the front wheel drive Maxus?

A guy here in France thought I had paid too much buying a Sprinter in France as his R/H drive LDV (without aircon, active suspension etc.) bought in Uk was much cheaper. His van was subsequently off the road for 6 months while he tried to obtain spares.

not 100% but i thought a lot of the mechanics of an LDV were based on Transit anyway...(engine/box etc.)
