For 20+ years she has been a constant presence in my life and I shall miss her. We went to the vet at midnight last night where she was PTS as she had renal failure. Going to bury her in the garden this afternoon. All she knew was love and kindness so I guess that's as good as it gets for any living thing let alone an animal. RIP Maggie.
Just felt like doing a little obituary for her so please indulge me. Thank you.

Throughout their lives with us we hold them with our love, and then we must let them go with love. Thinking of you. Night Maggie. x

Lady, tears here, Maggie and memories of my lovely dog too. Thinking of you xxx

Thank you again everyone. Please don't be crying. I think it's better to have had them and cried when they died than not to have had them at all.
I have a dog who is aproaching 14. We have been up since 4am as she is ready to come downstairs but wont stay on her own if she knows I am around.
When I lost my last one 3 plus years ago, I buried her in the garden and planted a rose called Remember Me.I think of her all the time but especially when that rose flowers.
Perhaps you could plant a rose for your littke one.
That's so sad. It will take time for you to move on but if I were you I will adopt or buy a new friend for you to be happy again. Adopt a dog with the same breed of your previous dog or a new breed.

Ladybirder, I haven't been on AB for some months, but I came here tonight to ask for supportive words after our lovely cat Basil had to be put to sleep on Wednesday. We took him to the vet as he was constipated, but it turned out he had a lymphoma on the colon, thyroid problems, a heart murmur and cystitis, and probably only had a few weeks left to live.

Mr Frog and I were heartbroken, but reading your words and the responses from the lovely AB folk has got me in floods of tears, but has given me so much comfort. I'm not sure you'll read this as the thread is nearly two weeks old, but I just want to say how much I feel for you. Your Maggie was a lucky girl to be so loved, and I know the pain you must feel. No doubt you did a special little ritual for her as we did with our Baz.

Big hugs to you, Ladybirder, and I hope Maggie and Basil are enjoying eachother's company in another place. Kiki xxx
