This has me stumped.
Newspaper in fifties United States humorously recalled years with vigour (9)
Z_S_F_L_Y
The answer must be ZESTFULLY
FT (newspaper) inside LL (fifties) US (United States) EZ (=humorously???) all reversed, then append Y (=years)
But why is EZ = humorously?

You need to break it up differently

States humorously = SEZ (says)
FT (newspaper) inside LL (fifties) U (United ) (States humorously) SEZ + Y
And yes, Chambers has 'sez'
