I confess to using Pataks paste in the past...i've run out.

So I decided to make my own, aided and abetted with a mish mash from google.

Some chilli, cumin (in lieu of garam masala), olive oil (in lieu of veg oil), tomato paste, garlic and ginger. It's in the fridge now !

I'm sure it will taste OK but what now?

You must have a decent marinade out there (for future ref) and even better a recipe for tonight !

Catsrcool (I think they are as well :D )
Thank you so much for going to the trouble of finding the links.I'm going with Korma, even although it'll be a spicy one.
I've bookmarked 'mamataskitchen' a new one on me, love the recipes.
Off to get some naans in, i'm not going to even attempt them :)
You could go down the Thai route.

Chilli, ginger, garlic, soy, fish sauce, sugar, lime.

Made a beef salad last week and it was lush. Use half the marinade to marinade the meat....tip the rest over the salad.
Your welcome.
I have made my own naans but I could not really taste any difference from bought ones so I don't bother anymore.

lol catsrcool, got some delicious ones out Sainsbury's..(with or without apostrophe ? ;) ) last night.

ummm, I wouldn't mind trying Thai, can you give me your recipe please ?
Thai green curry recipe as requested:

Works quite well but I think the sauce is a bit thin so instead of tinned coconut milk I buy:

I use fresh chicken stock to mix the powder to a thick runny consistency this also has the benefit of making the whole thing more "chickeny"
I am going to try some of the following in the future:

This is the recipe I use and the best one I've tried so far. I leave out the shrimp paste and add a little extra sugar....

And this is the beef salad. I also add iceberg lettuce...

Sorry Ummmm I have only just realised that the thai recipe request was directed at you.
That's cool :-) I'm sure she'll read them all...
I'm having an Asian noodle salad with beef tonight.

Perhaps I should go and marinade my beef..............
