i paid a £50 deposit when i got my flat in 1982 (september) to be held with interest, any ideas what it would be worth now as i am moving to a new flat,

bb's answer gives what 50 would be adjusted for inflation, but the inflation rate is not the same as an interest rate you might earn. Is there a stated interest rate in your rental contract?

no triggerhappy it's not insulated, all electric heating (my own free standing type) we only got double glazing a few years as it was made mandatory, its in a town centre so it was handy for everything but the new one with all mod cons and up to today's insulation it not far of town centre

no it just says it would be deposited with their bankers in a deposit account, the flats changed hands three times now
