was it on a thread which has been pulled, perhaps?
Maybe the thread was removed- happened to me this afternoon after typing a fairly long reply to a strange question earlier

Thank you boxtops. I am afraid I do not know what a thread is. I am78 years old and new to computing. I takes me so long to type that I think it cut out before I had finished. Is this possible.
This is a thread- a thread comprises a question and the resultant replies.
I have never known AB'time out' but I too have a few times lost my answers part way through by pressing a key- maybe a function key- by accident
No, not likely, leah - but sometimes a conversation is going the wrong way (people being nasty to each other, etc). AB individual conversations are called "threads" - you've just started one! - and if the thread is taken off by the Editor, you wouldn't be able to post an answer.
no it sounds like you've miskeyed actually, it happens alot to me cos i'm dozy and have my dad's hands.
What was the thread taking about, it wasn't the hypnotherapy to quit smoking one was it? That is still there.
I agree with factor here, leah. I have often managed to hit a button that has deleted my response before posting. Grrrrrr is the word for that!
lol sorry I didn't mean to suggest you were dozy though, lol

Thank you all. I am a little bit wiser now. I was just a bit miffed because it took me so long to type.
