Is It A Mistake To Replace My Bath For A Shower Enclosure?

I have a 3 bedroom semi and am about to remove the bath and replace it with a shower enclosure.
Is this a mistake? I'm not intending on selling right now, but would it harm the value when that day comes?

It's not difficult to put a bath back in and there's obviously room. Make life easier for yourself today and don't worry about tomorrow.

Climbing in, and worse, out again, over the bath edge is what many people find difficult, also a bath that hasn't been designed to have a stand up shower over it can be dangerously slippery with a very small level area.
