I was going to purchase a Polo Shirt online from the website jackjones.com but I don't understand their sizes. I am usually an M in Polo Shirts. But looking at their size guide for Medium is 49 across the chest... Now 49 Inches would be huge and if it was 49CM it would be too small.

Has anyone purchased from here before or know what unit of measurement they use?

It is cm, they explain that you need to lie one of your own t-shirts flat on a table, measure across the front from below one arm to the other and then choose one from their site that is the same or similar. So 49cm would be front (or back) measured from armpit to armpit, not all the way round as is usual.
