Hi Owd....I have a friend who was a hypnotherapist. When he was training he asked me to be his guinea pig. It was a while before we realised I was the problem....I just don't go under very well. He went on to open a free practice with some wonderful results. One of the most memorable was a mutual friend whose teenage son was still wetting the bed. Hypnotherapy...

no experience, but good luck owd.
Hypnotherapy worked and the joy at being able to go to Scout camp, stay over with friends etc. was nice to see.
He gave my Mother some treatment when she was staying with us...can't remember for what but she came home in a dreamlike state and was quiet all evening. OH said he would gladly pay for daily sessions.
I was hypnotised to give up smoking, I loved the experience and it really does work gor some conditions. Just make sure he is registered and not a cowboy.

You are in total control at all times, and totally aware of what is happening at all times,if you want to get up and walk away you can do.
If I recall from QI you just have to get Steven Fry to put a digit somewhere.
Really OG? The gorgeous Stephen Fry! Tell me more. ;-)

You have to try to name seven bald men first though.

Why not give it a try owdhamer ?
PS if that fails then hypnotherapy has to be worth a try.
Hypnotherapy is a wonderful way to get rid of problems. You can also be taught self hypnosis and deep relaxation . Make sure though that you get someone with qualifications. Also hypnotherapy is not a magic so do not think that if you go for one session your problem will be solved. Usually about 6 sessions is needed.
Don't know about hypnotherapy for hiccups, but it's great for making you feel good. Very relaxing, so it might work.
I take it you have tried all the other 'traditional' cures ?
The one that works for me is to drink some water whilst pushing your fingers in your ears. (You need someone to hold the cup for you, or to do the pressing into your ears).
Good luck and hope something works soon.
Digital rectal massage works, according to Steven Fry (see above) - mind you, I'm not sure if you are meant to do it to yourself or have a friend do it for you! - cheaper than hypnotherapy!
Good luck owd, hope it works for you.

Sorry but not for me.
Oh well at least you gave it a try owd.
Owd, I had a series of sessions some years ago - you have to want it to work, and go with the flow (which I'm sure you will) - after the first nervousness it was an excellent experience. I hope it works for you. Let us know!
owd, have you had the hypnotherapy yet ?
Try holding your breath for more than a minute. This increases the CO2 whilst stopping the lungs from working. This usually works but you may have to do it two or three times.
I did training as a hypnotist but I found the breath method was the most effective.
