Dog went out for long walk with a friend earlier today, has come back with poorly paw, I know it's not her due claw, so suspect it is a sprained paw/ankle, she can put weight on it but is limping. She only weighs only 15 kg. any suggestions????

Many thanks in advance
Cheers Mitchell xx

No aspirin to dogs unless advised by Vet, they know which ones are safe and in very low dosage. Really, if it is still giving her discomfort after a couple of hours, the paw needs looking at by a vet too.

I'd never give a dog aspirin or human painkillers (unless I was qualified in such things). Do you recall the recent case of the woman hounded by the public for giving her dog a paracetamol in ignorance and it died?
Paracetamol is a no no but aspirin is ok. Give half a normal one for that size of dog. Obviously only on odd occasions unless prescribed by vet.
Let me state at the start that I'm completely serious but I'm sure I recall an old arthritic hound being prescribed Tramadol by a vet.
I know it's not aspirin but who'd have thought it?
Second link is to Tramadol for dogs!
I would never give animals any of our medicine,it could be fatal.
