When typing a posting, the text can be split into different lines by using the return/enter key but, having been submitted, the posting then shows it all on the same line, e.g. this is on one line this is on another line

question to self:- did i really type all those capital letters in the title?
I'm just having a look at this now. I guess I need to post a question containing enough text to test this. I am putting in a return here (twice): Is this the issue? Or is it something else. As always I would appreciate any browser information.
I can see now. Thank you. We're going to have to deal with a wall of text for the moment while we try and work out what is wrong!

the question was typed in using Waterfox (firefox) and i'm typing this reply using Chrome this is on a separate line
Question Author
it's the same here
bibblebub, I think AB automatically capitalises the first letters of words in headings. It's been like that for ages.
Question Author
yes, naomi24, but there are a couple of other letters which are also capitals
Question Author
ah, sorry, i've just noticed that the extra capitals are only being displayed in waterfox
Oo-er! Not on my screen.
Could this be a browser issue? I am using Chrome and find that the last word of a line is broken, rather than sent to the second line. Supercalifragilistic expialidocious should default to the next line. I shall try Firefox and see if there is any difference.
Also the < buttons wont work when wrapped round a word

Nope.

Incidentally, ed, in waterfox/firefox when I double click on a word to select it 5 letters at most get highlighted whereas on other websites the whole word is highlighted (as it should be). Other browsers are ok. Anyone else using Firefox have the same problem or is it just me?
Indeed newline doesn't work anymore- I'm using Firefox ;-)

i've also just realised that the extra capitals that I see in firefox are the 6th letter in each of the words
