What do you do when a relative buys you an Xmas present that you really don't like? Such as an ornament/vase/picture that they would expect you to put on display but you can't stand it, or it just doesn't go with anything? Or maybe perfume that you would never wear?

Do you hide it? Only put it out when they visit!? Tell them you don't like it??

On a morning TV programme last Christmas time they did a piece on body language when opening a gift, I do hope they show it this year. Apparently, the thing to avoid is a pause, a sure sign you don't like something.
My daughter was given a really awful coloured ornament for a wedding present, so she sent it as a Christmas present to one of her friends, which in turn was sent to another of their friends. The Ornament became a running joke it has been in so many peoples houses now I think she's had it back twice.
Long queues at M and S after Christmas to change Christmas Presents. My daughter has a cupboard in which she keeps unwanted presents and then doles them out to other people at appropriate times.
I'm lucky at my age everybody knows a bottle of malt whisk(e)y does the trick, but I must admit I have a Bugs Bunny Tie that a certain little girl bought me some years ago that I still wear on special occasions.
