Hello All

I have Zinc Sulphide and 0.1M Silver Nitrate solution. Can anyone tell me the procedure to combine them to make Silver activated Zinc Sulphide for use as a scintillation phosphor?

Thanks for the link jomifl,

I am trying to introduce silver atoms into the zinc sulphide crystal lattice in order to increase scintillation when it is bombarded with alpha particles. Having seen the clip, I might abandon my efforts and take apart an electroluminescent panel for its phosphor.

Regards

Glad you found it useful :-)

That's what I told the wife when she caught me watching internet porn with my pants down the other day. I think she bought it.
Ludwig, If she hadn't, you would've.
