OK, looking at CAM65:

1A Sensible sorts of questions articulated ... (9).

Answer is MORECAMBE - why? I can't even see a definition in there and Chambers doesn't have a definition for Morecambe.

This is clearly more than one level up from the Guardian!

As far as I can remember the answer is WISE (sounds like whys"), which is replaced by his partner MORECAMBE in the grid.
You might be better starting with an intermediate difficulty crossword like the Spectator then work up to the more difficult ones - that's what I did.

The clue is to Wise (sensible is definition and it sounds like whys = questions). I'm guessing this was a partner-themed puzzle - did it have a preamble?
The theme was 'fool's mates' and omitted the partners of some well known comedy pairings.

Wise (whys) here.
Sorry slaney & QM2 you weren't there when I started typing.
Morning K - CAM 65 had a pretty difficult endgame - I see only 25 correct entries were received!
Hi slaney - It was a tricky, and some thought unfair endgame.

I've just downloaded CAM 66 which looks more friendly.
