Grandsons Toshiba Sattellite Laptop will not boot up

My Grandson recently dropped his laptop but it was still working but for the last few days it as stopped booting up on the screen it as a error message PXE-M0F Existing PXE ROM.
Operating System not found

anyone have any info on this problem

as it's a fairly new latop it will have a SATA hard drive, so pretty much any SATA 2.5 inch hard drive should be fine...

Reinstalling it is another matter! if you have the recovery discs it's easy, if not a call to Toshiba may be in order, they might supply the recovery media (for a small price) but if not you either need to find install media that matches the COA...

He's knackered the hard drive!

Your best bet would be to buy a new hard drive and re-install it from the recovery media you either got, or created, when you first got it.
OH, but do remove the hard drive and re-fit it just in case it's just dislodged the connection to it..

(it will be under a panel on the bottom)

it's as i thought i have removed the hard drive and put it back to no avail would i have to purchase the exact same hard drive or is it possible to fit any internal HDD in the machine bearing in my the connections and the prices of HDD's
