Are there any car parks within easy reach of Stanmer Park near Brighton? Have to go tomorrow morning and will be leaving the area well before the big match in Brighton. I read on the park website there is limited spaces at the park. Have to attend a cross country race at the park. Thanks

Thanks for your reply. If you do take the train, remember that 3 or 4 people travel for the price of 2, so that makes the total fare £6.80. (Actually it's probably £6.75 because the system usually calculates the price for 3 people and then knocks off 34%).

im sure joggerjayne will be able to answer you if she sees this question!!!!!
A search for 'Falmer' on the Carparks4u website (which is generally reliable) finds nothing closer than Lewes or Brighton:

You might want to consider driving into Lewes and parking there. (Lewes Rail Station has 272 spaces, at £4.70 per day). Trains run every 15 minutes to Falmer (where the station is just across the road from Stanmer Park), at 14, 29, 44 and 58 minutes past the hour, with a 7 or 8 minute journey time. (£3.40 return).

The train is a possibility but car parking with train costs for 3 soon mounts up. Interesting site boxtops, thk u. May try to drive there early n if no joy go for the train option. Thanks again all n have a good weekend.

Cheers Buenchico. Did as advised n drove to Lewes n caught the train. The parking was easy, my children (who were running in the cross country) enjoyed the short train ride, 2 minute walk to the event and no stress involved! They had great races (and results) then we returned to Lewes to have lunch on town. An easy, pleasurable day. Thanks again Buenchico.
