It was 6 am . very dark. i see an oncoming truck flash his lights at me. the old signal for policeman ahead. from pretty far in back i see the blue lights. the road gets narrow and windey at this point. i pull into a side street and turn around. I never saw the police car again. Can i get a ticket? i wasnt going very fast. in fact I wasnt speeding. i kept expecting to see him right on my tail but he never did. he could have easily caught me if he wanted to. i doubt he got my plates.

As the great Mr Crosby (not Bing) once wrote:

Must be because I had the flu for Christmas
And I'm not feeling up to par
It increases my paranoia
Like looking into a mirror and seeing a police car

I watch a lot of this tv cop programmes which essentially means I'm an expert.

What I have learn from these is innocent people don't run from the police. So what were yo doing wrong? They've probably put a trace on the car so it will be pulled over every time it's seen. You're a marked person. Hand yourself in or they'll be beating your door in at 3am with a warrant to search - including a strip search.

Then you'll probably go down for about 10 years.

And all because you turned into a side road.
