It certainly was not justice in my understanding of the term - he should have stood trial, with all the embarassment for Western leaders who have aided his regime when it suited them.

What do people really expect? A 'come with me calmly' arrest?

Job done.
I think Tony Blair would have put him up in one of his houses abroad!!!!
so he is dead, now what. Will all the people who have been exiled here and in other countries go home to help rebuild the country. London has too many people as it is, and don't think gadaffi would have been welcome. Blair could well have given him asylum, in one of his seven homes.
nicelander //Its all out there people. I m not making it up//

beso, the conspiracy theorists at play again, they will never see that the ones who had most to gain would be the culprits.

Looks remarkably like US justice. Few regimes kill as many prisoners as the US legal system.

Then there are the covert actions. Anyone remember Osama bin Laden?

But these are trivial compared to the innocents killed by supposedly civilised nations in pointless wars.

Any capture, other than by Nato troops, was going to result in Gaddafi's death. The rebels hate him with a passion that is frankly alien to the British psyche - he should be grateful that he wasn't torn limb from limb.

So a lot of embarassing revalations for Western leaders are lost - and hopefully the Libyans will be able to pick up the pieces of their shattered country and rebuild it. Let's hope so.
