Personally I think you just have cravings. From what I have seen (but I`m not an expert) people who have diabetes whether gestational or not, don`t crave sugar. They have other symptoms (thirst etc). You might not even be craving sugar but some other hidden ingredient in coke such as caramel or many of the other secret indredients that are contained in it. If...

I can't answer your question, but that amount of coke isn't good for anyone, pregnant or not - I would consider (if I were you) how much that stimulant might be affecting your baby, as well as not being good for your own health and teeth. I'd go see your doc or mention it to your midwife if I were you, just in case gestational diabetes is causing the problem, especially as it's a condition in your family.

yea i no its not good! thats why im worried but its like a drug atm lol i just need it :/ someone else mentioned getational diabetes too a trip to docs for me i think!
I don't think it's so much the sugar that worries me but the caffeine.. how much is in coke?
You wouldn't drink 6/7 glasses of alcohol whilst pregnant (I hope!) and drinking this much coke is not that much better for your baby. It isn't a laughing matter and you must stop, I know pregnancy cravings are hard to resist but this is your baby's health we are talking about.
get caffiene and sugar free coke if you must drink this amount
I agree with Pink... My mum has to drink it and I actually prefer the taste of it.

If you really are desparate to have something sweet, have a teaspoon of honey every day.

who said i was laughing?! do u seriously think i want to drink this much!! i asked for advice and the last answer was prob the best thank u :) but daffy i do not need telling off i no cokes not good for baby...but my baby is already measuring 2 1/2 weeks bigger and is healthy so maybe it is my craving
As you are 24 weeks pregnant with a baby measuring 2.5 weeks ahead of that I suggest you insist on a GD test! Big baby is a symptom of GD

And you have NO WAY of knowing your baby is completely healthy until you give birth - posters here are trying to help you. If you dont want that help, dont ask. Simple
I drank a lot of coke when I was pregnant. Coke or coffee....

No one warned me not to....

Get tested for GD again....and make an extra effort with the rest of your diet.
lsharp - just to explain, you put LOL at the end of your question - Laugh out Loud - that's why people have assumed that you are laughing about your craving. Nothing to be offended by, we read what you wrote. We ARE trying to help.
My first thought would to be exclude diabetes. Suggest this at your next ante natal.
i think that if you are drinking that much that your urine samples may show the sugar at your next appt anyway, but do see if they can send you for a glucose tolerance test. I was only borderline with my second pregnancy and yet even with diet control baby was 9lbs6.5 at 40 weeks.
