I am going to be stuck at work all summer until 10th October. I would really like to go somewhere warm in October.

Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't want to spend too much (around £1000 for my and my girlfriend all in).

Somebody has suggested the Canary Islands. Anywhere else?

Thank you.

For cheapness I'd look at Cyprus, it's still very warm in October. The Canaries can be unpredictable.

It depends how long long you want to go for. Greece and its islands, Cyprus and Spain are warm and you will find good deals in October. If you are a bit more adventurous you could go to North Africa. Somewhere like Sharm el-Sheikh.
I have been to the Canaries twice in October. Very pleasant

We are thinking going for a week. Do you think there will still be a free nightly firework display in Tripoli in October?

Probably not too adventurous.
Morocco, Egypt and Canaries have good weather at that time of year. Quite good deals for Morocco at the mo due to some recent troubles!!
Check ot asia you get good deals for well less than 1000, Phuket, lan, hat yia Thailand and others. lan khowi Pennag Malaysia or even Vietnam, so many options, warm too, and cheaper than europe for drinks and food.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Can you recommend websites to use to search. A bit of expansion on the girlfriends requirements. Quiet, Small Hotel (20 rooms ish) not in a clubbing area.

Thanks again for your help.

Anybody suggest any websites?

I like the idea of Egypt but my girlfriend is not so keen
You could try the trip advisor website. There are all sorts of comments. Also Hotels.com allows you to choose the type of hotel you want. If you want to avoid clubbing avoid Playa de las Americas which is very touristy. While you are there I would recommend Loro park which has a stunning bird display. Also well worth taking a dolphin/whale watching trip. We saw dolphins and pilot whale in October.

I like the idea of dolphin watching. Great idea. Thank you.
The Canaries are, above everything, reliable on weather as they are so far South. It's windy there but it should be warm and not too busy in October.

Well we did it. We booked the holiday yesterday. Thanks everyone for your advice.
We are going to Tenerife and really looking forward to it.
I want to do Mount Teide and the Dolphin thing. What else do you suggest?
We are looking at staying on the norther side of the island as it seems quieter.
Thanks again everybody for your comments.
I havent been for a while but had a good day here.

Are you staying in Puerto De la Cruz ?
