I am on one of these dating websites and have got chatting to what seems like a really nice guy. Need your take on this. We started chatting about 2 weeks ago and have thrown quite a bit of emails back and forward. We also chatted on the messenger service of the website a couple of times, one night for over an hour. The thing is I asked him out a few days ago and he replied saying yeah he’d be up for that. I was well chuffed. I replied saying when would suit him? He then took a day to reply to say he was busy the week ahead but we’d get something sorted soon. I felt a bit deflated. I then said if he changes his mind about meeting to let me know either way. I haven’t heard from him since – it’s only been a day but noticed he was on the site yesterday and he didn’t email me or try and chat. Confused why he’d chat to me for 2 weeks and agree to a date if he wasn’t interested or am I just being impatient or is he playing hard to get? What's your take? x

Hard to say...what kind of things have you been chatting about? Maybe he thinks it's a bit too soon.

Could be a million reasons. He might just be incredably nervous, he might not be everything he claims to be, he might be busy meeting other women every night of the week. I would just stay on the site, keep looking at people you like and chatting to them and avoid contacting him again. Leave it up to him and have some fun of your own.
Looks to me like he was happy to keep the your relationship on a 'cyberspace' footing and is backing off from a meet. May not be anything personal Zammo he's maybe just the kind of guy who likes to 'chat' rather than meet.

My advice.....move on.
Move on. Hope you find what you're looking for but this guy has definately moved on.

We've just been having everyday banter. He has got really good chat, some of it has been flirty but nothing too overboard - that would have put me off.
It's only 2 weeks. I wouldn't dream of meeting up with a complete stranger after just two weeks...
How long would you wait uummm? Is it really any different from if she met someone in a bar and then went out with them alone a few days later?
I don't suppose it is really. I've never been out with a stranger so hard to comment. I wouldn't meet anyone from the net unless it was on a friends basis. I was going to meet NoMercy and Rowan but I was poorly.

I have met a couple of guys like this before and it is really not too different from meeting someone out and about. I think it's okay if you have your wits about you but it is harder to read people hence my dilemma. :-(
Poorly....excuses excuses..... :o)

I did actually meet a few people off the net once from a dating site but it was quite a long time ago and I have no idea how long I left it before I met them in person. One of them took me to the pub where he knew his ex would be. Odd.

Anyway, sorry Zammo for going off track. Good luck with your search!
I was really poorly...OH was coming with me well.
There could be a number of different reasons. Personally, I'd not bother him and see if he contacts you. If you keep contacting him, you run the risk of him thinking "desperate". There must be others on there!
its pretty much easy come easy go on those sites. I suppose it makes a change from the usual scenario of someone losing interest once they've 'conquered' you!
