Hi ABers Can anyone explain simply; test curve of a fishing rod? Secondly what kind of test curve should I look for in an 8 - 9ft pike fishing / spinning rod? TIA; as usual all answers gratefully received.

If you hold your fishing rod horizontal and a weight is fastened to the end eye runner the test curve is the amount of weight needed to bend the rod 90°, can't give you any more info as to the type of rod you need it's years since I did any freash water fishing
