is it possible to download something from the iplayer and then burn onto a dvd?

This link explains there is something to prevent the download to DVD but explains how to get round it (no doubt it's unlawful and I've not checked the link but it's there for information)

I don't think it is unlawful.
Yes can be done. Snagit captures well, you need to set up the saved codec and format tho.
Well, since the BBC allow you to download iPlayer content, but the built-in DRM does NOT allow you to directly copy the file to another device or medium, or would say that circumventing the protection so you can do that probably is unlawful.

I'm not saying do it or don't do it, but by using iPlayer you are agreeing to it's T&Cs of use, and by circumventing the DRM on the files you download, you are subsequently violating that agreement. Perhaps not illegal, but frowned upon?

i don't want to do anything illegal - I've been involved in a row on AB once before, about illegal copying! It's for an elderly neighbour who missed the programme about tigers. She doesn't have a pc but does have a dvd player.
