my 10yr old niece has bad dry cough. not sure if its connected to her asthma. taking brown and blue inhalers. chemist would not give her dry cough med as she said asthmatics should not take it. she s coughing mad. tried steaming but nothing works.

Is she using her blue inhaler to relieve the cough at all, do you know? If she is struggling to take it because of the cough then get her to use her spacer. Coughing is a big symptom of asthma, so it may be this or something agrivating this such as hayfever.... pollen triggers mine off. So maybe some antihistimines... either way a persistent cough in an asthmatic...

Anyway, I think the best advice for your niece is to see the doctor.

Thank you for your answers in relation to my nieces asthma. Spoke to a pharmacist who recommended antihistamines and this seems to have helped so far.Cheers!
